Testing SteamOS Gaming on the GMKtec Evo X5 Pro

I install SteamOS on the GMKtec Evo X5 Pro and examine how its Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and Radeon 806S handle PC gaming. The overview covers setup, system controls, and selected 1440p game tests, rather than a Windows-versus-SteamOS comparison.

■ Hardware and SteamOS setup
- Unified memory, performance modes, BIOS settings, and the limits of available TDP controls
■ Gaming tests
- 1440p settings and upscaling across several games, including Forza Horizon 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Spider-Man 2, and DOOM: The Dark Ages
- VRAM use and the role of graphics settings in the tested games

PC gaming and mini-PC enthusiasts can use these examples to understand what the system setup involves and what to consider when choosing game settings. If you are evaluating the Evo X5 Pro, compare these SteamOS tests with the creator’s separate Windows 11 coverage and check the configuration that fits your needs.
