How U.S. States Secure Elections and Count Votes

I examine how state and local officials prepare elections, verify ballots, and respond to challenges to public confidence. Interviews with Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt and NBC News reporter Jane Tim cover election procedures and concerns ahead of the midterms.

- Pennsylvania: ballot counting, election preparedness, cybersecurity, federal support, and litigation
- Georgia: audits, voting-system safeguards, mail voting, and debate over federal involvement
- National picture: voter-fraud claims, public trust, and possible election-day challenges

For voters and anyone following election administration, these discussions offer context on how voting is managed and what issues officials are preparing for. Check your state’s official election guidance for voting rules and deadlines; if voting by mail, allow time for delivery.
