October 7 and the Debate Over Israel’s Security Failures

Marking three years since the October 7 attacks, this report examines questions about Israel’s security breakdown and the absence of a state commission of inquiry. Interviews with survivors’ relatives, campaigners and political figures connect the debate over accountability with the country’s upcoming election.

- Remembrance and personal testimony from communities affected by the attacks
- Security warnings, officials’ departures and competing claims over responsibility
- Calls for a state inquiry, a petition to the court and the election debate over national security

The report focuses on accountability and political responses rather than providing a full account of the attacks or findings from an investigation. It is intended for viewers following Israeli politics and security; afterward, viewers can track developments in the inquiry debate and compare the claims presented by political figures.
