Yemen’s Civil War: Frontline Fighting and Its Human Cost

I report from southern Yemen on the shifting front lines of the civil war and the conflict’s effects on civilians and wounded fighters. The field report combines accounts from pro-government forces, people displaced by fighting, and medical staff; it also contains distressing images of injuries.

- Front lines: territory retaken by government-aligned forces, drone attacks, and the role of Iran- and Saudi-backed sides
- Civilian impact: displacement and the lack of basic necessities for people fleeing the fighting
- Medical toll: treatment of combatants, including a Houthi fighter and an injured child

This report is for viewers seeking an on-the-ground view of the conflict and its human consequences, rather than a comprehensive history or an account of possible resolutions. Use it as a field report, and consult broader coverage for additional historical and regional context.
